IND vs PAK: Rohit Sharma once again put up a match-winning performance as helped his team beat Pakistan in match 12 of the ODI World Cup 2023 at the Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad on Sunday.

After restricting the arch-rivals to just 191 runs, bowling them out in 42.5 overs, Rohit led from the front as the Men in Blue chased down the target in 30.3 overs with seven wickets in hand.

The Indian skipper continued his remarkable form and went on to smash another half-century, taking his team closer to victory before getting dismissed for 86.

An instance took place during the run chase when Sharma hit a sensational 90-metre six off Haris Rauf over the covers during the eighth over.

Following this, he approached umpire Marais Erasmus and flexed his muscles as he received loud cheers from the crowd.

Speaking to Hardik after the game, Rohit explained the reason behind the moment on BCCI's website. The Indian captain said after the six Erasmus asked him how he was able to hit such sixes and if there was something in his bat.

Rohit said that he told the umpire it was all power, pointing to his muscles.

"He was asking me 'How are you able to hit such sixes? Is there something in your bat?' I told him, no, it's not the bat. it's all power."

Notably, Rohit smashed six fours and as many massive sixes as he provided full entertainment to the jam-packed stadium of around 1,00,000 capacity.

Rohit became the first Indian cricketer to record 300 sixes in ODI cricket after hitting his third six of the game. He had surpassed Chris Gayle's record to become the batsman with the most sixes in international cricket, reaching a total of 559 sixes in 454 internationals.

“The bowlers also did their job. Lots of five-fors. [On the team getting together] I will keep my fingers crossed. We don’t want to get too excited and also not get too low as well. It is a long tournament, nine league games, and then the semis and final. Just have to keep the balance and go forward. I have said it before, for us it was an opposition [Pakistan] we wanted to play. Every opposition we come against they can beat you. We have to be good on that particular day. The past and future does not matter,” Rohit Sharma said during the post-match presentation ceremony.
