One of the much-anticipated and high-octane India vs Pakistan is here and will be played at Melbourne Cricket Ground in Australia on October 23rd. Ahead of the match, there were predictions that rain can play a spoilsport in the match but now the chances of rain have decreased as Australia woke up to a clear sky.

Meanwhile, in a presser ahead of the match, Rohit Sharma was very keen on playing the match even if it was reduced to a shorter format.  “If the situation demands that it’s a shorter game, we will be ready for that, as well. A lot of the guys have played such kinds of games before, and they know how to manage themselves in a situation like that where you are getting ready for a 40-over game, and then suddenly it’s a 20-over game, or five overs each," Rohit said.

However, now the real question arises what changes would be done if a shorter format of a match is to be played today as there are still chances of rain according to the Bureau of Meteorology, there is a 70 per cent chance of rain on Sunday, between 2 to 5 mm. “Cloudy. High (70%) chance of showers, most likely this evening,” it further states.

Earlier, Accuweather.com also predicted an 80 per cent chance of precipitation on Sunday which can make the conditions a bit severe.

India vs Pakistan Clash: Will there be a Reserve Day?

Meanwhile, the match between India and Pakistan starts at 7 pm local time, which is 1.30 pm IST. However, if rains play a spoilsport, a minimum of five overs per side need to be possible for a match to take place and there are no reserve days for the group stage, a facility available only for the semi-finals and the finals.

One must also know that the warm-up match between India and New Zealand was also cancelled due to rain on the day of the clash. Now, cricket fans can only hope that the weather remains sunny so that an iconic clash between India and Pakistan can happen.
