What Happened When India and Pakistan Last Faced Off In T20 WC Match: India and Pakistan will once again be up against each other as they face off in the much-awaited clash in the T20 World Cup 2024 which is scheduled to be played in New York on Sunday, June 9.
This will be the eighth meeting between the arch-rivals in the marquee tournament as they gear up for action in the West Indies and the USA.
Both India and Pakistan are former T20 WC champions, having won the tournament way back in 2007 and 2009 respectively.
Their first meeting between India and Pakistan in the T20 WC came in its inaugural season in 2007. They first met in the group stage and then in the final with the Men in Blue winning both to lift the title.

As Nassau County International Cricket Stadium in New York for the enormous clash, let's take a look at what happened during the previous meeting between these two teams in the T20 WC.
What Happened in last T20 WC match between India and Pakistan?
In the 2022 T20 World Cup which was played in Australia, India and Pakistan met in the Super 12 stage at the MCG.
India won the toss and opted to bowl first and did well to restrict Pakistan to 159/8 in their 20 overs.
Shan Masood was the top run-getter for Pakistan, having scored 52 runs in 42 balls on the back of five fours.
Iftikhar Ahmed also smashed a half-century as he scored 51 runs in 34 balls with the help of two fours and four sixes.
For India, Arshdeep Singh and Hardik Pandya picked up three wickets each whereas Bhuvneshwar Kumar and Mohammed Shami took a wicket each as well.
Chasing the target, India had a disappointing start as they lost four wickets for just 31 runs but Virat Kohli kept things alive for India at the other end.
He stitched a crucial partnership of 113 runs for the fifth wicket with Hardik Pandya.
India needed 16 runs in the last over which was bowled by Mohammad Nawaz and Kohli and Pandya were the batters in the middle for the Men in Blue.
India lost Hardik Pandya on the very first ball of the over as Babar Azam made no mistake with the catch. Pandya departed for 40 runs in 37 balls with the help of one four and two sixes.
Dinesh Karthik was the next batter in and he was quick to give a strike to Kohli with a single on the second ball of the over who was a set batter.
Kohli then took a double before smashing a six on the next delivery which was called a no ball.
Nawaz then felt pressure and it appeared straight away as he bowled a wide ball next up before Kohli gave his heart out on the next delivery for a triple and was away from the strike.
India suffered a huge blow when they lost Dinesh Karthik on the penultimate ball and they then needed two runs off the final ball.

It was so calm of Ravichandran Ashwin who did well to pre-meditate a ball from Nawaz that was going down the leg which eventually was called wide and scores were level.
Ashwin smashed the ball over long off to give his side a famous victory with Kohli being the hero as he played a memorable knock of unbeaten 82 runs in just 53 balls on the back of six fours and four sixes.
India went on to reach the semi-final of the tournament where they suffered a defeat against England who also defeated Pakistan in the final to clinch the trophy.
