IND vs PAK T20 World Cup 2026: The world no.1 T20I batter Abhishek Sharma will be seen in action during the high-octane clash in Colombo on Sunday. The youngster had to miss India's second group stage match against Namibia, but did attend the training session in Colombo on Saturday, where he was seen smashing big sixes.

He was seen batting against bowlers like Kuldeep Yadav and Varun Chakaravarthy, and had taken these bowlers to the cleaners of the R Premadasa stadium, and had tried to warn the Pakistan spinner, Usman Tariq.

After facing the spinners, the youngsters then played against the fast bowlers and were equally brilliant as they impressed both their teammates and the local bowlers with his batting prowess.

He didn't use much of his foot movement when he was going all guns blazing against the bowlers.

Post the training session, captain Suryakumar Yadav provided an update on Abhishek's participation in the match against arch-rivals.

“Okay, if you want him to play, then we will play with him tomorrow. All the worries are over?" he said during the pre-match press conference.

Abhishek’s recovery means that Sanju Samson will have to exit the eleven for the Punjab man to reunite with in-form Ishan Kishan in the openers’ slot in Sunday’s game.

Pakistan skipper Salman Agha was also aware of Abhishek’s imminent return, but he preferred to make plans for India as a team rather than focussing on certain individuals.

He, though, expressed his desire for Abhishek to play. According to him, the Pakistan team wants to play against the best.

“I really hope – we all know he’s a good player and I really hope he plays tomorrow (Sunday) because we want to play against the best team they have and I really hope he is recovering well and can play tomorrow", Agha said.
