IND vs PAK T20 World Cup 2026: The Sri Lankan police are currently busy preparing for three high-octane clashes of the mega event, which also includes the India Vs Pakistan match in Colombo. Special security and traffic arrangements were being made for these matches, even though the Pakistan government has revealed that they will be boycotting the match against India next week.
According to a newswire report, a comprehensive security and traffic plan will be put into place for the mega event, like Sri Lanka vs Ireland (February 8), India vs Pakistan (February 15), and Sri Lanka vs Zimbabwe (February 19).
As per a senior Sri Lankan police officer, they haven't been informed officially either by the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) or the International Cricket Council (ICC) about the India-Pakistan match getting cancelled, and that they will stick to the original plan.
PCB Sets Conditions
As per a report, the PCB has laid conditions before ICC in the back-channel talks. Shehbaz Sharif, who is the Prime Minister of Pakistan, recently revealed that they are boycotting this match in order to stand with Bangladesh.
The ICC is deliberating over the conditions while the logjam persists.
SKY’s India Ekdum Clear
While the contest remains in limbo, India captain Suryakumar Yadav recently revealed that the team will travel to Colombo, and they are mentally prepared for the fixture.

“Mindset is pretty clear," Suryakumar said on Thursday in Mumbai. “We did not refuse to play them. The refusal came from them [Pakistan]. ICC organised the fixture. BCCI and the Indian government decided to play in a neutral venue in coordination with the ICC. Our flight to Colombo is booked. So we are going. We’ll see what happens later."
India will open their World Cup campaign on February 7 against the USA in Mumbai before facing Namibia in New Delhi on February 12. They are then scheduled to fly to Colombo.
“The discussion in the team is ekdum (absolutely) clear. First, we play the match on February 7, then we will head to Delhi (Namibia on February 12), and then we will travel to Colombo," Suryakumar said.
