Sachin Tendulkar's remarkable record of runs across World Cups appears insurmountable, at least in this edition of the ICC World Cup. However, there's a specific record held by Tendulkar that is within reach for Virat Kohli and Rohit Sharma in the upcoming match against Pakistan at the Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad on Saturday.

Tendulkar amassed a towering total of 2278 runs in 45 matches across the six editions of the 50-over World Cup he participated in since 1992, making him the highest run-scorer in the tournament's history.

Among the top Indian run-getters in World Cups, Virat Kohli and Rohit Sharma currently occupy the second and third positions, but they are over 1000 runs behind Tendulkar's record. However, the duo is in close proximity to Tendulkar's World Cup runs against Pakistan.

In five matches against Pakistan in the ODI World Cups, Tendulkar scored 313 runs at an impressive average of 78.25. To surpass Tendulkar's record, both Virat and Rohit would need to score a substantial century in the upcoming match on Saturday.

Both India and Pakistan have secured victories in their first two matches in the ongoing World Cup round-robin phase. India triumphed over five-time champions Australia and Afghanistan, while Pakistan secured wins against Netherlands and Sri Lanka.

In their previous encounters in ODI World Cups, India has maintained a perfect record against Pakistan, having never lost in seven matches, further adding to the excitement and anticipation surrounding this high-stakes showdown.
