IND vs SA 1st Test: India's star pacer Jasprit Bumrah was seen clearing the air with Temba Bavuma post South Africa's brilliant victory in the series opener in Kolkata. South Africa had defeated India by 30 runs as they were able to defend the target of 124. After Axar Patel's dismissal. Bumrah tried to play a slow sweep in Simon Harmer's over as the hosts were skittled out for 93 runs, and that's when he made up with Bavuma.
When the Protea players were celebrating the win, Bumrah went towards Bavuma and was seen praising the Proteas skipper. They got involved in heartwarming conversations and cleared the air post Bumrah's remark for Bavuma on the stump mic on the first day.

This comment was heard when he made an LBW appeal and was heard as taunting about Bavuma's height. This incident happened in the 13th over of the first innings when the Proteas were 62/2. When Bumrah's LBW appeal was overturned, Bumrah was heard as saying on the stump mic, "bauna bhi hai," which was aimed at Bavuma's physical appearance.
'Bauna' in Hindi means people of short height, and its use is being seen as something offensive. Ashwell Prince, who is the batting coach of South Africa, dismissed this concern.
He revealed that the South African team will not be taking this matter forward. At the same time, Bavuma maintained his unbeaten streak as skipper as they had won their tenth match of 11, where one ended against the West Indies.
He also led the team from the front by scoring a knock of 55 runs in the second innings and helped the team lead by 123 runs. He will try to repeat his heroics in the second match as well, which will be held in Guwahati next week.
