IND vs SL, 1st ODI: Indian skipper Rohit Sharma, who is usually known for his hilarious stump mic interactions and also entertains the fans with his one-liners. A similar situation was again seen in the first ODI against Sri Lanka on Friday, August 2. The incident happened during the 29th over of the first innings, where Washington Sundar had bowled a yorker delivery as Dunith Wellalage tried to defend it.

Sundar appealed for LBW but the umpire didn't give the decision in his favour. At the same time, Sundar looked toward the captain and asked whether he should take the DRS or not. After this Rohit was surprised and asked, "What?" and then he said, "You tell me, mere ko kya dekh raha hain (Why are you looking at me?”.

“Sab kya main karu tere liye,” Rohit was heard as saying with a smile on his face.

Skipper Rohit Sharma returned to the national side in ODIs after announcing his retirement from the shortest format after winning the 2024 T20 World Cup in West Indies in June. He helped the team end their 11-year-old ICC title drought as the country had last won an ICC trophy way back in 2013 and that too the Champions Trophy under MS Dhoni's leadership.
