IND vs SL: The Men in Blue landed in Sri Lanka on Monday and were seen taking selfies with fans at the airport. The T20I team, which will be without seniors like Rohit Sharma, Virat Kohli and Ravindra Jadeja is a young side and will aim to create an impact. The side looked in good mood ahead of their three-match T20I series against Sri Lanka.
The BCCI took to their official X account and shared a video of their flight from Mumbai to Sri Lanka. The Suryakumar Yadav-led side will be playing a three-match T20I series, which will begin from July 27, Saturday and as many ODIs.

During the pre-series press conference, head coach Gambhir revealed that ex-Netherlands cricketer Ryan Ten Doeschate would also be joining the squad as another assistant coach. The team management has appointed Sairaj Bahutele as the assistant bowling coach as ex-South African cricketer Morne Morkel is all set to take over this position in a few weeks.
Suryakumar Yadav had been named as the captain of the T20I squad, pipping Hardik Pandya, who was the vice captain of the 2024 T20 World Cup winning team.
At the same time, earlier it was reported that Rohit Sharma and star batter Virat Kohli would be giving the ODI series in Sri Lanka a miss but with their inclusion in the ODI squad, it is clear that both these players would be playing all the ODI series as possible. Both of them haven't joined the team till now and are expected to do in a few days.
"Now that Rohit Sharma and Virat Kohli will play in only two formats, I expect them to be available for most games", Gautam Gambhir told reporters in the pre-series press conference.
Talking about Pandya's snub from T20I captaincy Agarkar revealed, "You would want a captain that's going to be more likely to play all the games".
