IND vs UAE, Asia Cup 2025: Suryakumar Yadav-led India won the toss and opted to bowl against UAE in their Asia Cup 2025 Group A match at the Dubai International Cricket Stadium in Dubai on Wednesday.
India are heading into the match with Jasprit Bumrah as the sole genuine fast bowler, supported by all-rounders Hardik Pandya and Shivam Dube. Notably, Arshdeep Singh is left out, while spin duo Kuldeep Yadav and Varun Chakravarthy make the cut.
Surprisingly, Sanju Samson has been added into the playing XI over Jitesh Sharma.
India and the UAE's T20I history is limited to just one encounter. The two sides played each other in a 2016 Asia Cup dead rubber in Dhaka, where India dominated, winning by nine wickets with 59 balls to spare.
Speaking at the time of toss, Suryakumar Yadav said, "We'll bowl first. Looks a nice fresh wicket. Humid also today, might be dew later. If we get an opportunity, we're flexible to do anything but today we want to bowl. We came here early, had 3-4 good practice sessions and also a day off."
UAE captain Waseem said, "We were also looking to bowl. Pitch is fresh and maybe the ball will do something early. We had a good series, took many positive points and we're confident from that series. We're going with a good combination with spinners and fast bowlers, and juniors and seniors."
