IND vs USA, 2024 T20 World Cup: India on Wednesday survived a scare to defeat the USA at the Nassau County International Cricket Stadium in New York. With the win, India secured its place in the Super 8 stage. India's win featured a breathtaking spell from Arshdeep Singh, who scalped four wickets in his four overs giving away only nine runs. Another India bowler grabbed the spotlight on Wednesday, but not for his bowling figures.

India’s star pacer Mohammed Siraj failed to clinch any wicket against the USA but was brilliant while fielding as he won the ‘best fielder’ medal for the second time in the T20 World Cup. Siraj took some brilliant catches while fielding and attempted a runout helping his team reduce USA to 110/8. Siraj took a brilliant catch by jumping near the boundary line resulting in Nitish Kumar's wicket during the 15th over that helped him win the best fielder medal.

Former India all-rounder Yuvraj Singh awarded the medal to Siraj and lauded all the match-winners. "Arshdeep congratulations on the Player of the Match and your batting skills last game also. SKY played well, unlike Suryakumar but according to the situation. Shivam well done, very good to see you getting runs and finishing the match for India. Well done, all the best guys. I’m pretty sure you, no pressure, enjoy. Of course, Best fielder of the game, Siraj game changer, great catch," Yuvraj said in the video shared by BCCI.

"It’s amazing feeling last World Cup I was the contender across 11 matches but couldn’t win the medal, but hard work never goes to waste and always pays off," Siraj was heard saying in the video after winning the medal.
