"It was really important to be myself when I went in to bat in the powerplay, that's what the team management also wanted. I have practised these strokes a lot and I love doing that. We have batted together for a long time, we both understand how each other bats and the way he batted it gave me a lot of confidence. It was a great innings from him at the other end," said Suryakumar Yadav at the post-match presentation.

Suryakumar Yadav's 83 did wonders for India in the 160-run chase as Men in Blue avoided West Indies to take an unassailable 3-0 lead in the five-match series. Hardik Pandya finished off in style with a six over the bowler's head.

Tilak Varma has changed his approach after Suryakumar Yadav's dismissal and is rotating the strike with skipper Hardik Pandya in the middle. India are comfortable to win this match from here. Suryakumar scored 83 off 44 balls before Romario Shepherd sent him back to the pavilion.

Suryakumar Yadav is continuing his sparkling knock and decorating it with regular sixes and fours. He smashed six and four on two successive balls off Romario Shepherd to accumulate 13 runs from the over.

Axar Patel and Yuzvendra Chahal have been introduced in the powerplay overs to give a breakthrough to India. Openers King and Mayers are rotating the strike beautifully and playing their shots on loose balls.

"We'll bat first. Looks a little slow wicket. Holder in the last game picked up a niggle to his knee. He misses out, Chase comes in. Guys are excited, we are on the doorstep on history. They have such quality players, have to keep them on their toes. If you become predictable, they will destroy you," West Indies captain Rovman Powell said at the toss.

"Don't mind chasing. Obviously would've preferred to bat looking at the surface. Might get slower. It is what it is. Pooran has been batting very well. Would like to keep things simple to him, rather than trying a lot of things. Two changes, Yashasvi makes his debut, Kuldeep comes in for Bishnoi. Ishan misses out," India skipper Hardik Pandya said at the toss.  

West Indies skipper Rovman Powell has won the toss and elected to bat first against India in the third T20I at Providence Stadium in Guyana.

Little bit cloudy. It's the same pitch as the second T20I. 66 meters on one side, 67 on the other, and 77 down the ground. Pitch looks good. It's a bit drier than the second T20I. No green blades of grass. It's still very hard. Spin will play a little more leading role in wicket-taking, reckons Daren Ganga.

"Satisfied that I performed. Something that I have been looking for in the last couple of years, so be there and finish games. I want to be consistent. I have been working so hard, I have made a lot of mistakes, lost a lot of games for my teams. I want to entertain the fans as much as possible. It's about being positive and confident," Pooran said after Windies' two-wicket win in the second T20I. 

"I have been with Rahul sir since the Under-19 World Cup. He always says to follow your basics and spend as much time in the 22 yards between the wickets. He always says to enjoy your game as much as you can," Tilak said at a press conference on Sunday.

"When I was talking to Hardik bhai also, he says the same thing, that you've done well in IPL and domestic, so this is the same thing you should do in international cricket. Follow your basics and enjoy your game," he added.

Suryakumar Yadav has not had a perfect West Indies tour so far. The batter featured in all three ODIs but did not convert his starts to big scores. He scored 19, 24 and 35 while in T20Is he get 21 and 1 respectively. In the must-win game, India need some magic from SKY to clinch their first victory in the series.

“That was not a pleasing batting performance by us. The wickets were falling, and the track was on the slower side. We were not good enough to get to 160+. Batters need to take more responsibility. It is what it is. The current combination that we have means we have to play with seven batters. Bowlers win your games. We have to figure out how we get batting strength from No. 8, 9, 10."

With series on the line, India are not expected to make a lot of changes in their playing 11 but a few minor change in the playing 11 can be expected in tonight's fixture. India's batting remain a concern for them in the series so far with Ishan Kishan and Sanju Samson may face exclusion due to poor performances. 

On the other hand, Jaiswal made his mark in international cricket with his impressive Test debut against West Indies last month. He has been in prolific form since IPL 2023.
