JE Sports Desk: It was a comprehensive effort by Team India as they turned out to be too hot for the hosts West Indies at Dominica as the test match got wrapped inside three days. It turned out to be a no-contest between the two sides as India won the match by an innings and 141 runs. Despite being a dull test overall, the test match had its moments with debutant Ishan Kishan behind the stumps.
Kishan kept the wickets wells against spinners and pacers alike on a deteriorating track. During Day 3, he also attempted to out-fox batter Jason Holder with his street-smart 'stumping' which also reminded fans of the controversial dismissal where English wicket-keeper Jonny Bairstow was stumped by Australia's Alex Carey during the 2nd Ashes test.

It had happened at the end of the 33rd over after Ravindra Jadeja bowled the final ball of his 14th over against Jason Holder. Wicketkeeper Ishan collected the delivery after Holder failed to make contact and waited for a bit behind the stumps and then whipped of the bails as soon as Holder lifted his foot marginally.
Kishan, pointing towards the leg umpire for a loud appeal, and the decision went to the third umpire. However, Holder was found inside the crease during the replay and was declared not-out.

According to Law 20.1.1.1, the ball is dead, when its “finally settled in the hands of the wicketkeeper or of the bowler.” Law 20.1.2 further adds: “The ball shall be considered dead when it is clear to the bowler’s end umpire that the fielding side and both batters at the wicket have ceased to regard it as in play.”
A lot has been said about this kind of stumping in the past few days. Despite the dismissal being within the rules of the game, it sparked a 'spirit of the game' debate. It also caused a huge uproar among cricket fans as well.
