Virat Kohli has been going through great times in the Caribbean both on and off the field as he provided another cherishing instance in the first ODI against West Indies at the Kensington Oval in Barbados on Thursday.

The moment took place in the 18th over when Romaio Shepherd tried to play a cover drive on the fourth delivery off Ravindra Jadeja who was bowling his fourth over. He already had taken two wickets, dismissing Shemron Hetmyer (11) and Rovmann Powell (4).

The ball took an outside edge of Romario's bat and straight went towards the right of Virat Kohli who had just moved at second slip before that ball. The former Indian skipper dived a bit towards his right and pulled off a one-handed stunner, giving Jadeja his third scalp of the day.

After holding on to a magnificent catch, Virat looked pumped and celebrated the wicket with Shubman Gill who was at first slip, and wicket-keeper Ishan Kishan as both the players were seen giving astonishing reactions.

Jadeja himself was left in surprise and quickly went towards Virat and others to celebrate his third wicket of the day, leaving the hosts six down for just 97 runs.

Both Virat's catch and the reactions of players are getting wonderful reviews and reactions on social media with everyone lauding Virat for his amazing reflexes at the slip cordon and for being active even in what turned out to be one of the boring outings for the fielders.

 

Jadeja on Virat's catch

The all-rounder finished with 3/37 in his six overs, providing promising support to Kuldeep Yadav, and also hailed Virat for his remarkable catch saying that it was good to see someone else take a catch off his bowling.

“Virat Kohli took a fabulous catch. It was low and Kohli held it wonderfully. Generally, I take such catches on other’s bowling, but it felt good that somebody took it on my Bowling (laughs),” said Jadeja in a video shared by the BCCI.

The former Indian skipper, however, didn't get to bat in the low-scoring game with the team promoting youngsters up the order in order to provide them more game time.

Both Rohit Sharma and Virat were shuffled down the order with the former coming out to bat at no. 7 and finishing the game for his team.
