India vs Zimbabwe T20Is: BCCI have made changes to India's squad for the Zimbabwe tour as they gear up for their first assignment in the shortest format after the T20 World Cup 2024.

Sai Sudharsan, Jitesh Sharma and Harshit Rana have been named in the Indian squad for the first two T20I matches against Zimbabwe.

The trio will replace Sanju Samson, Shivam Dube and Yashasvi Jaiswal who were part of India's T20 World Cup 2024 squad.

"The Men’s Selection Committee has named Sai Sudharsan, Jitesh Sharma and Harshit Rana as replacements for Sanju Samson, Shivam Dube and Yashasvi Jaiswal for the first two T20Is against Zimbabwe," BCCI wrote in the press release.

"Originally slated to join the Zimbabwe-bound squad for the upcoming five-match T20I series starting Saturday, 6th July, the trio will travel to India first with the rest of the ICC T20 World Cup-winning Indian squad before departing for Harare," the press release. added.

India and Zimbabwe will face off in a five-match T20I series starting on July 6 with all the matches scheduled to be played in Harare.

Sudharsan has already made his debut in ODIs in South Africa last year but is yet to play in the shortest format of the game.

While Jitesh has nine T20I matches under his belt, having made his in the Asian Games last year, Harshit, who had a memorable title-winning campaign in the IPL 2024 with Kolkata Knight Riders, has received his maiden call-up.

Samson, Dube and Jaiswal were a part of the Indian squad that won the T20 World Cup on Saturday (June 29) and their departure home from Barbados was delayed due to Hurricane.

BCCI have confirmed that the trio will first travel to India with the rest of the members from the Caribbean before departing for Harare for the final three T20Is.
