India vs Australia Semifinal, ICC Women's World Cup 2025: It was very brave of Jemimah Rodrigues to talk about her struggles and weaknesses after leading India to a famous win over Australia in the semifinal of the ICC Women's World Cup 2025 in Navi Mumbai. She made a revelation on how she has been dealing with anxiety issues and self-doubts throughout the tournament.

However, Jemimah produced the best performance of her life so far to take India to the World Cup final. On the back of her remarkable century, India pulled off the highest successful run chase in women's ODI history. She played a 127-run knock in 134 balls on the back of 14 boundaries as India chased down the 339-run target in 48.3 overs.

After being adjudged as the Player of the Match, Jemimah let her emotional side out and said that she has been crying every day. She also revealed that getting dropped from the 2022 Women's World Cup despite being in good form affected her. "It was really hard this last month. It feels like a dream, and it still has not sunk in. Last year, I was dropped from this World Cup. I was in good form. But things kept happening back-to-back, and I could not control anything. I have almost cried every day through this tour," a visibly emotional Rodrigues said.

"Not doing well mentally, going through anxiety. I knew I had to show up, and God took care of everything. Initially, I was just playing, and I kept talking to myself. Towards the end, I was just quoting a scripture from the Bible, to just stand still and that God will fight for me. I just stood there, and he fought for me. A lot inside me was left, but I was trying to stay calm," she added.

Jemimah, who has been in and out of the team in this tournament, acknowledged the constant support from friends and family during tough times. "And also at this time, my mum, my dad supported me a lot. And also there was Arundhati (Reddy), who I think almost every day I’ve cried in front of, almost every day I’ve cried in front of her. I was joking and telling her Don’t come in front of me, I’ll start crying. But she checked on me every single day."

"Smriti (Mandhana) also helped me. She also knew what I was going through. Few of the next sessions, she was just standing there. Even yesterday, she came and just stood there (close by). She didn’t say much, but she just knows that her presence is important for me. There’s been Radha (Yadav), who’s always been there taking care of me."

"I’m so blessed to have friends I can call family, that I didn’t have to go through it alone, and it’s OK to ask for help. Everyone stood by me and believed in me when I didn’t, when I couldn’t," she revealed.
