IND vs WI 2nd Test:India completed the formality of adding 58 runs to their overnight total and complete a relatively comfortable win over West Indies for a 2-0 clean sweep of their two-match Test series that concluded in New Delhi on Tuesday morning. Chasing 121, India lost opener Yashasvi Jaiswal cheaply on the penultimate day before KL Rahul and B Sai Sudharsan took over to secure a facile seven-wicket win.

India reached the target in 35.2 overs in the morning session.

Rahul scored an unbeaten half-century, his 20th of Test career, even as India lost Sai Sudharsan (39) and captain Shubman Gill (13) in quick succession. Sudharsan was out thanks to a brilliant diving catch from Shai Hope in then slips while Gill perished while searching for big shots.

West Indies were listless in the series opener in Ahmedabad as India stormed to a massive innings win in just over two days. The second Test seemed to be headed in a similar direction but for India’s decision to enforce follow-on on a still flat Delhi pitch on which the visiting batters finally showed some resilience and put up a fight.

Centuries from John Campbell and Shai Hope followed by a fighting half-century from Justin Greaves meant West Indies avoided an innings defeat besides forcing the contest into the fifth day.

The victory was India’s fourth of the ongoing ICC World Test Championship. However, they remain third on the WTC table currently led by Australia.
