IND vs AUS, 3rd Test: Australia's Scott Boland, who took five wickets including that of India skipper Rohit Sharma and Shubman Gill during the first innings and then dismissing Virat Kohli and Yashasvi Jaiswal during the second in the pink-ball Test in Adelaide, is not part of the playing XI for the must-win third Test of the ongoing five-match series against India and will be held from Saturday. Australia skipper Pat Cummins revealed that fast bowler Josh Hazlewood would be making a comeback to the team for the third Test match in Brisbane.
Hazlewood would be replacing Boland and that is the only change for Australia's playing XI, which thrashed the Men in Blue by 10 wickets in the 2nd Test, and the series is now leveled at 1-1.
Cummins revealed that it is always Boland, who has to sit out when Hazlewood, Mitchell Starc, and himself are available and it's quite unfortunate that he is dropped from the playing XI despite performing brilliantly with the pink ball during the second Test.
How Hazlewood trained at a different ground and proved his fitness
Hazlewood had a woeful start to the ongoing series in Perth and was thus dropped from the playing XI of the 2nd match owing to side strain. He then recovered well in time and was seen bowling at full throttle at the Allan Border Field.
He was seen sweating it out during a 45-minute practice session in Queensland amidst unbearable heat, along with fellow teammates Mitchell Starc and Josh Inglis. Dan Vettori, Australia's bowling coach, also monitored their training session.
Cummins addressed the issue of making the pacers train at AB Field and said, "purely (about) run-ups."
"We've done it most years ... It's only about 25 meters at the back of the Gabba (nets) whereas we can get full run-ups at AB Field," Cummins told reporters in the pre-match press conference.
"They were going to bowl yesterday morning, it was still damp, so the nets got pushed back to the afternoon, hence why it clashed with the main training session. There's nothing more to it", he concluded.
