IND vs AUS 3rd ODI: India skipper Shubman Gill failed to attempt an easy run-out chance of in-form Australian batter Matt Short in the third ODI at Sydney. Short was about to begin his innings and was involved in a mix-up with skipper Mitchell Marsh as he was seen diving at the non-striker's end to stop himself from getting run out.
In the fourth over of Mohammed Siraj, Short was the new batter after Travis Head's dismissal, and he tried to start his innings.
Short tried to take advantage of the misfield, but Marsh had hit the ball towards mid-off, and that's where Gill tried to stop the ball, but took his own time to attempt a run out.
At the same time, Marsh agreed, and Short ran for his life and dove desperately when Gill attempted the throw and missed the stumps.

“Should have been out, Gill took too much time there," Mark Waugh was heard as saying on air.
At the same time, Short was also seen reeling in pain as he dragged his right hand on the pitch. This was the same hand that he had injured as he tried to take a catch in the second match.
The Indian fielders have been disappointing in this series. They had dropped 4 catches in the first two ODIs.
The Shubman Gill-led side has lost this ongoing series. However, they will still try to fight back in the third match, and that's why we have made two changes to their playing XI by including Kuldeep Yadav and Prasidh Krishna.
