IND vs AUS 2nd Test: Harshit Rana, India's young pacer had a tough outing on the first day of the second Test against Australia at the Adelaide Oval on Friday.

Rana bowled eight overs for 18 runs and went wicketless as Australia ended the day on 86/1 with Nathan McSweeney (38*) and Marnus Labuschagne (20*) at the crease.

The duo already has stitched a crucial partnership of 62 runs for the second wicket and are 94 runs behind.

After India found the first breakthrough of the day with Jasprit Bumrah dismissing Usman Khawaja for 13, the bowlers had to work hard but couldn't find another success.

While McSweeney was somehow managing to survive, Harshit had a go at the young opener in order to put him on the back foot.

Rana was steaming in and clearly bowled his heart out before unleashing some verbal volleys at McSweeney.

Harshit Rana beat McSweeney's inside and outside edges repeatedly as the batter had no clue. The star pacer sledged McSweeney with a few words throughout the over.

Later in the day, Harshit tried his aggression on Marnus as well as the batter had his struggled during the initial phase of his innings.

Harshit Rana vs Marnus Labuschagne Faceoff

After surviving a delivery off Harshit, Marnus chirped, “Good pace.”

Although the batter meant no malice, Harshit wasn’t happy with the comment and retorted, “You saw that?” It didn’t stop there; he bowled another good ball afterward and was in Marnus’ ear immediately.

Ultimately, Marnus chipped one to point and ran a single. Coming Harshit’s way, the pacer didn’t stop in his follow-through and seemed to have intentionally poked his elbow out.

India opted to bat first in the pink ball Test at the Adelaide Oval and were bowled out for just 180 runs in their first innings with Nitish Kumar Reddy being their top run-getter.

While Nitish played a fighting knock of 42 runs, Mitchell Starc recorded his career-best bowling figures in Test cricket, taking six wickets for 48 overs.

India came up with three changes in their lineup with skipper Rohit Sharma, Shubman Gill and Ravichandran Ashwin replacing Devdutt Padikkal, Dhruv Jurel and Washington Sundar whereas Scott Boland came on for Josh Hazlewood.
