IND vs AUS 4th Test: The fag end of the fourth day of the Boxing Day Test was quite difficult for the Men in Blue. At one point it looked like Jasprit Bumrah had dismissed Nathan Lyon and ended the host's innings' but it wasn't meant to be.
Bumrah's no ball costs India as KL Rahul's catch goes unrewarded
A no-ball decision frustrated the Indian camp while Australia took most advantage of it and left the Indian bowlers clueless. The incident occurred at stumps.
Jasprit Bumrah had bowled a peachy delivery as Lyon had smashed the ball towards third slip. KL Rahul was initially seen struggling but then took a stunning catch with the help of his legs. The visitors then started celebrating the dismissal, thinking that they had wrapped Australia's innings.
But then the on-field umpire gave the decision of a no-ball since Bumrah had overstepped and Lyon came back to bat again. The frustration of the Men in Blue was quite visible.

Aussie tail stings again
As if that wasn't enough, Nathan Lyon and Scott Boland added more woes to the visitors. On the next ball, they stitched a gritty partnership of 50 runs and gave the Indian bowlers a hard time. Till stumps, that partnership went up to 55 runs and Australia's lead had gone to 333.
During the first half of the day, the Indian bowlers had reduced Australia to 91/6. Bumrah, Mohammed Siraj, and Ravindra Jadeja rattled Australia's batting lineup and at one point it seemed like Australia's lead wouldn't even go beyond 150 runs.
But the nature of the pitch changed once again. Australia's lower batting order chipped in with significant contributions as Nathan Lyon and Scott Boland helped the team bounce back as has been the case throughout the series. The hosts went from 91/6 to 228/9 and thus made the Men in Blue regret their missed opportunities.
India's first innings woes
The Rohit Sharma-led side too had a shaky start. They continued their first innings total and were skittled out for 369 runs and fell short of Australia's target of 474 runs. Although, Nitish Kumar Reddy did score a scintillating knock of 114 runs and Washington Sundar too scored a half-century the other batters failed to fire.
What awaits on Day 5?
Going into the fifth day, the visitors are now on the back foot. They will aim to end Australia's innings quickly and will then hope for a miracle in order to win this match. The Pat Cummins-led side has a huge lead of 333 runs and is in a commanding position while the visitors will try to pull off a miracle to defend their title.
