Australia dominated the opening day of the second Test match, played with a pink ball against India at the Adelaide Oval on Friday. The Indian team was bundled for a tiny score of 180 runs. Instead of going through an occasion or two, the gents from Australia came straight to the crease. At the end of day one, Australia had put 86 runs on the board, losing just one wicket along the way.

As the sun set on the first day of the second Test match, the Australian batters Nathan McSweeney and Marnus Labuschagne occupied the crease, making 38 and 20 runs respectively. After 33 overs, the Australians attained a total of 86 runs and were still 94 behind India's first innings score.

Earlier, the India captain Rohit Sharma had preferred to bat first. However, they struggled in the early hours of the day and, as a result, were bowled out for 180 runs in 44.12 overs.

Nitish Reddy was the top scorer for India in the batting department, making a fine contribution of 42 runs from 54 balls. Other valuable scores came from KL Rahul with 37 and Shubman Gill with a contribution of 31.
