The sharp catch by Kohli sent SCG's blue-clad stands into raptures with the sea of Indian fans basking in the electrifying atmosphere.
The Indian dugout came alive as Kohli's catch sparked a wave of euphoria, with teammates rushing to pat his back for the stunning catch. The screamer also bears fruit after Axar Patel and Washington Sundar's sustained pressure finally yielded results as the duo bowled in tandem.
The 36-year-old's brilliance in the field showed no signs of slowing down as he pulled off another incredible stop at cover in the next over, sending the SCG crowd wild in the chants of "Kohli, Kohli, Kohli."
Notably, this catch put Kohli three clear of former Australia skipper Ricky Ponting in the all-time list with 163rd catches in One-Day International cricket. Legendary former Sri Lanka captain Mahela Jayawardene holds the top spot in the table with 218 catches.
