India vs Bangladesh, Asia Cup 2025 Super Fours: The Bangladesh cricket team has suffered a major blow ahead of their match against India in the Asia Cup 2025 Super 4s, which is scheduled to be played at the Dubai International Cricket Stadium on Wednesday, September 22.

Litton Das has reportedly picked up a back injury in training at the International Cricket Council (ICC) Academy Ground. According to Cricbuzz, Litton felt 'discomfort' on the left side of his waist while attempting a square cut. He was assessed by team physio Bayzid ul Islam and withdrew from the session prematurely.

Bangladesh kicked off their super fours campaign of the ongoing continental tournament on a positive note. They came up with an impressive performance in their previous match and defeated Sri Lanka by 4 wickets at the same venue. "We will have a look at him (Litton) today because from the outside he looks quite okay, but we need to conduct a medical assessment before making a final call," the report quoted a Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB) official as saying.

While Bangladesh aim to continue their winning run, they would hope the injury isn't serious and skipper Litton can recover for their all-important fixture against India on Wednesday, September 24. Apart from being the skipper and the senior star, Liton is also a key part of Bangladesh's batting setup at the top of the order.

It is yet to be known that who will be leading Bangladesh if Litton misses out. Notably, Bangladesh didn't name a vice-captain for the tournament.

Bangladesh need to win at least one of these games to have a chance at qualifying for the final of the tournament. More clarity could be expected when the team sends its representative for the pre-match press conference.

"Before the Asia Cup, we played a couple of series and we batted really well and we chased down comfortably," Litton said after the win in their previous match.

India have historically dominated Bangladesh in T20Is. Out of 17 meetings, the Men in Blue have won 16, with Bangladesh tasting victory just once. Their last encounter was a one-sided affair, with India hammering the Bangladesh by a massive 133-run margin.
