IND vs ENG Tests: The Indian cricket team have kicked off their preparations as well for the upcoming five-match Test series against England and the highlight of the practice session was wicketkeeper-batter Rishabh Pant's monstrous six that broke the stadium’s roof.
Ahead of the all-important series, the Indian team is training hard to win their first away assignment of the 2025-27 World Test Championship (WTC) cycle.
In a video going viral on the internet from India’s net session, the 27-year-old stumper was seen in his prime form as he smashed spinners, including Washington Sundar for a massive six, which eventually landed on the stadium's roof and left it damaged.
BCCI also posted a vidoe of practice session on their Instagram handle, in which several star players like skipper Gill, Pant, Jasprit Bumrah, Mohammed Siraj, and Ravindra Jadeja were seen in action.

Gill and Pant were among the players who did some batting practice, while Siraj and Bumrah were seen throwing down balls. The team also took part in some fielding drills led by fielding coach T Dilip.

Ahead of the highly-anticipated Test series, Pant was named India’s new vice-captain will serve as Shubman Gill's deputy. The wicketkeeper batter had endured a lean patch during the recently concluded Indian Premier League 2025 (IPL 2025) where he amassed 269 runs from 13 innings with one century and fifty.
After a protracted white ball season now the Indian team will transform its approach for the red cherry, Pant's form will be extremely crucial for the revamped side, given his previous performances in England.
In England, the southpaw has accumulated 556 runs from 17 innings and it includes two centuries and as many fifties at an average of 32.70.

Meanwhile, after the Test retirement of India's batting bigwigs Rohit Sharma and Virat Kohli, new-look Team India would start a new era under newly appointed red-ball skipper.
The series will be held from June to August 2025, with matches scheduled at Headingley in Leeds, Edgbaston in Birmingham, Lord's and The Oval in London, and Old Trafford in Manchester.
