India vs England 3rd Test LIVE Cricket Score: Zak Crawley, Ben Duckett Survive Feisty Final Over Of Day 3, ENG Lead IND By 2 Runs At Stumps

A hostile final over of the day, with hardly anything to separate the two sides after three days at Lord's! Crawley's trick sparks tension! The English opener's tactics frustrate the Indian bowlers, but the captain's patience wears thin. Things get a little heated after India's sarcastic applause. England's score read 2/0 at Stumps of Day 3.

India are bowled out for 387, same as England. Washington Sundar goes hit, and Archer placed a fielder there for that shot. England will have to come out and bat for six minutes before stumps.

Akash Deep's entertainment is done as Harry Brook's brilliant one-handed grab sends India batter packing. Akash Deep sends the ball towards the third man area, but Brook takes the catch in slips. IND 385/8 in 116.1 ov.

Ravindra Jadeja's brilliant innings comes to an end. Chris Woakes bowled one down the leg side and Jadeja flicked it straight to Jamie Smith, and he is dismissed for 72. IND 376/7 in 113.2 ov.

Ravindra Jadeja follows a pair of fifties at Edgbaston with another at Lord's. Jadeja plays a good shot off Joe Root's delivery to get to his fifty and brings out the sword celebration. IND 326/6 in 94.3 ov.

Welcome back. India will plan on taking the lead in this session, England will want one wicket to lead to two and two to lead to all out. Fairly simple, whoever is ahead at the end of the day will have a pretty cut andd dry advantage with two days to play. 

Quiet session. Only 68 runs off that one and one wicket that off the centurion. This match is proceeding only gradually, but the situation is intereesting. England will bee hoping to strike soon after tea. 

Oh, ouch. Plnty of frak moments like this so far. Stokes with a bmper that doesn't ris a ton but enough and strikes Nitish flush in the side of his grill. He is feeling some major discomfort in his jaw and needs a fresh helmet. Nasty one

A few plays and misses but not too much in terms of excitement. India will want to see through the 20-odd minutes through to tea with this pair still at the crase. 

Its been relatively slow going but thes two are beginning to look lot more confident. 300 comes up and India are within the sight of that first innings total if these two can keep this partnership going. 

Lots of these injuries in this match, but this one might have hurt the most. Jadeja steps out and absolutely blasts it, right back at Bashir, who could only get a finger to it. He hits to floor and holds his left hand- he's in pain and has to walk off. Might be a dislocation, hopefully just that and thankfully his non-bowling hand. 

Root finishes the over. 

Nitish Reddy taking his time to settle in at Lord's but Ravindra Jadja has looked for scoring opportunities from the other end. If these two can just settles nerves a touch, India will feel better abput their chances against the impending second new ball. 

Very little interesting record set by KL Rahul becomes 100th player to be dismissed exactly on a score of 100 in Test history. 

Phenomenal stuff from KL Rahul. He has looked completely untroubled and cruised his way to a very special, strong patient century. Just the second Indian with multiple centuries at Lord's and now only Rahul Dravid has more than his 4 centuries in England but job's not done. 

India have marred a perfect session with a wicket falling just before lunch. Oh was there really the need of a single there. Pant prods it and Rahul calls him through in an attempt to reach the strike and get his century. But its the wrong man to hit to. Stokes is sharp, gets down, pivots and nails thee stumps at the bowlers end. Pant is short of his crease and his gone for 74 on the last piece of action before lunch. 

Wow. India won't be happy with that. 258/4. Pant was going se well and India still 139 runs short of England and the hosts have a sniff. 

Here we go. Bashir on and Pant doesn't need two invitations. Down the track to the pitch and straight down for six. Pant has had enough of fending off for bouncers from the pacers. 

Not holding back now. Dug in short by Stokes again and Pant is much better prepared. Sviwels, not afraid to go aerial and easily clears the square boundary. Thats fifty for him. Thats his fourth 50 plus score of the series in five innings. Remarkabke stuff from Pant. 

First target India would have in mind for the morning accomplished- 200 up with no further damage. 

On a roll now. Rahul ends Carse's over with an exact copy of that ridiculous tuck off the hips, he's into 76. Pant flays at one outside off-stump from Woakes for four and he is suddenly onto 45. 

First time Rahul has tried to find fence and he does so with skill. Waits on it from Woakes and just easily guides it past gully. Very nicely done. 

Archer is testing India's KL Rahul and Rishabh Pant with a short ball stuff. Good over from him, apart from that no ball.

The action has started, and Pant has straight away attacked Archer for a couple of boundaries. Good start.

Bumrah has been in remarkable form and continued with his brilliance at Lord's. He picked up his 15th five-for, his first at Lord's. Bumrah smashed multiple records, including the one for becoming the Indian bowler with the most five-wicket hauls in overseas Tests played. He dismissed the likes of Joe Root, Ben Stokes and Harry Brook and ended up with the figures of 5/74 in his 27 overs.

"I personally think that if you want to keep getting the ball changed then each team gets three challenges every 80 overs and that's it, if you want to get it changed. But the rings have to be the right size, not too big.

That would be a nice way of compromising and saying it's not all on the manufacturer. Sometimes these things happen but you can't just keep asking and wasting time and slowing the game down at the same time."

The batters are expected to witness difficulty on the third day due to the uneven nature of the wicket. At the moment, Pant holds the key for India as his ability to score quick runs could hurt England massively. Rahul stands at the other end but will need to grind hard to convert this into a big one. Notably, Pant is already facing an injury issue, having picked up a blow on his finger. Dhruv Jurel kept for India in his absence. 

India are up against a challenging third day at Lord's. While KL Rahul and Rishabh Pant are at the crease for India, the visitors need the duo to go for a big partnership in order to take the upper hand. India will resume from 145/3 as they still trail by 242 runs. Rahul (53*) and Rishabh (19*) already have added 38 runs for the fourth wicket.

A brilliant one-hander at first slip from Joe Root sends Karun Nair packing for 40 runs. Nair gets an edge and Root dives to his left and carries a brilliant catch!!

This has been a promising recovery for India as KL Rahul and Karun continue to shine in the middle on the back of their cautious but smart play. The score has gone past the 50-run mark as six runs came off that over.

Tea has been taken on the second day at Lord's, and India have reached 44/1 in 14 overs in their first innings with KL Rahul (13) and KL Rahul (18) at the crease. They have added 31 runs for the second wicket. Jofra Archer took the only wicket for the hosts as he dismissed Yashasvi Jaiswal for 13 runs.

KL Rahul and Karun Nair have done well so far with the recovery, but have to grind hard to build a big partnership here to keep things going. India might face problems later in the batting order with uncertainty remains over Rishabh Pant. 2 runs came off that over from Archer.

Brilliant from Archer, and this is a remarkable way to announce your return to Test cricket. Jaiswal was completely opened up facing that and edged one to Brook at slips. India lose an early wicket.

England are bowled out for 387 in their first innings after opting to bat first at Lord's. Root was their top run-getter with a 104-run knock, whereas Jasprit Bumrah ended up taking another five-wicket haul.

Wicket! That's another fifer for Bumrah as the star pacer continues to impress. He has been brilliant this morning and gets the reward for that with Archer's wicket, who walks back for 4. England go nine down now.

Wicket! Finally, Siraj has a breakthrough as Jamie Smith edges one to Jurel behind the stumps. He departs for 51 as England go eight down. This is Siraj's first wicket in this match.

The first session has come to a close on Day 2 of the third test between India and England here at the Lord's Cricket Ground. 102 runs have come in the session but England also lost three important wickets. However, Carse and Smith have held the fort for England in this session as they put up an unbeaten 82-run stand for 8th wicket. Bumrah being the enforcer-in-chief took all the three wickets. Hero of the second test - Akash Deep has clearly been the weak link in India's otherwise devastating attack. He will look to improve himself in the upcoming session. We are 10 minutes from Lunch Break. 

The ball has been changed again courtesy of some protest by the Indian Team. Shubman Gill and his teammates have been livid with the conditions of the previously changed ball. NKR in the attack.

Bumrah is bowling incredibly unlucky to not get any more wickets with the way he has bowled so far. Jamie Smith, who edged it to KL Rahul as he failed to take the catch, has been given a lifeline already.

England lose Chris Woakes on the next ball as India get closer to restricting England under 350. Jamie Smith is the real thorn in the flesh for the Indians now. Jasprit Bumrah is just making life difficult for English batters.

Root can only add five to his overnight total and has to walk. He tries to drive Bumrah but there is just that much more bounce with the hard new ball. Catches it inside the edge and rockkets it into the stumps. 

India generating chances here, they will hope to wrap this up quickly with the bowlers walking out now. 

England have nearly thrown it away. Stokes hits it right at mid-off and for some reason sets off for the run. He would never get there and gives up halfway. Direct hit and it was curtains. But the fielder can't hit.

The BCCI has confirmed right before start of play that Rishabh Pant is still being monitored after his finger injury and Dhruv Jurel will continue to be his understudy with the gloves. Putting him on ice to keep him ready for batting, hopefully just that. 

English captain Ben Stokes was in some discomfort in the closing half an hour of play with a pulled groin but he has ben confirmed to be feeling better and ready to go. Stokes has got his eye in and will be consolidating- how he deals with the hard new ball will be key in this morning session. 

We are just 30 minutes away from the start of play on Day 2. Joe Root and Ben Stokes will walk to bat for England while Jasprit Bumrah and Mohammed Siraj will look to dismiss the overnight batters and get into the hosts' tail as soon as possible. 

The new ball is just three overs old and it remains to be seen who shares the new cherry. Jasprit Bumrah and Akash Deep are the frontrunners to take the new ball but don't be surprised if Shubman Gill choose Mohammed Siraj. 

The start of play is just 40 minutes away. 

Ollie Pope addressed the media after stumps on Day 1. Speaking to reporters, the right-handers explained why England adopted a defensive approach at Lord's on the opening day of the third Test. 

“It was the traditional… pretty slow pitch. It wasn’t a pitch you never really felt in on. I think obviously ending the day 251-4 is pretty good. It’s slightly different to how we normally go about putting together innings, but we’ll take it and hopefully we can kick on tomorrow,” said Pope while speaking to BBC Test match special. 

You could see it mile away from the start of the over. With Root on 96, he picks up a double and then is held with a single by mischevious Ravindra Jadeja, who eggs him on to come back for a single. Wry smile on Root's face and Stokes can't turn the strike over him. 

One run shy of his 37th Test century, and England go back into the huts at 251/4. Some old school cricket and a great battle set up for the remainder of this Test. 

Here we go then. Akash with the new ball, might be a question of giving Bumrah his preference of ends. Not to long left in day's play. India still want a fifth. 

Washington and Jadeja rifling through these overs. Ben Stokes hit the deck a couple of overs ago with some issues in his groin and it is still bothering him. Hopefully not to severe, with one talented player already out of this contest earlier

What a shot that is. Shuffles across and just leans into a simple, devastatingly effective on-drive. Pure timing, touch and class. Shot of the day today. 

Nitish almost strikes after being introduced right after ddrinks again. Stokes walks across and whiffs on the flick. Umpire doesn't give it out despite the England captain baring middle and leg stump. Its umpire's call on hawkeye and I think Reddy cane be a little aggrieved there, in all honesty. 

Just a lull in the rhythm of this match as England go back into a little bit of a shell. Not the bombastic style they usually play with, but nonthelss, they reach 200. 

England skipper Ben Stokes is in some dire need of runs, Atherton points out on commentary but India isn't an opposition he has ever enjoyed playing against too much. With Jadeja in operation, can he make use of a positive match-up to counter-attack. 

Big wicket. rook really wasn't moving his feet at the crease at all and its all a little too easy for Bumrah, who can get one to seam and dart and send the centurion from last match packing.  172/4 now. 

How about that. Dhruv Jurel brought in during a tight spot and he stands up for his team. Typical from Jadja, thick outside edge from Pope and its a great grab by the keeper. And India have ideal start to this session. 

 And a little bit of spin, but that's that as far as this session goes. A toil of a session for both parties, only 70 runs and no wickets. Pant's injury a big note.

India have been hoping to get their hands off this softening ball and they succeed in their appeal finally. Will the fresher, refurbished ball give them more luck? Well that's just the question. 

There is some improvement in the run-rate for England, however, the discipline shown by the Indian bowlers has been commendable to say the least. Shubman Gill has put the field well. Nitish Kumar Reddy in the attack. 

Rishabh Pant has walked off the field due to an injury. Dhruv Jurel has replaced him as he takes over the wicketkeeping duties. Joe Root scores first boundary after 10 overs.

Just 8 runs in 8 overs scored by the pair of Joe Root and Ollie Pope ever since the Lunch Break. Indian bowlers have managed to restrict innings from both ends. It will be interesting to see how who blinks first in this case.

It will be interesting to see how Indian bowlers will keep their approach in the second session on Day 1. The ball is 29 overs old. There is some lateral movement available for the seamers. 

The first session comes to an end as Joe Root and Ollie Pope stay unbeaten. England failed to score at a brisk rate like they aspire to do but did manage to lose just two wickets. Nitish Kumar Reddy remains the star of the session with two wickets. ENG 83/2 (25)

OUT!!!! Nitish Kumar Reddy gets the lucky breakthrough. Shubman Gill can't believe his luck. One can safely assume that Indian bowlers have been extremely unlucky to not get a wicket until now. 

England batters have somewhat weathered the early storm by the Indian bowlers, who have been unlucky. Crawley has even resorted to some 'adventurism' like dancing down the track to fast bowlers. Nevertheless, England remain wicketless.

England are off to a cautious start at the moment as the Indian bowlers have kept things tight against Crawley and Duckett. Bumrah continues to create chances, whereas Akash Deep is yet to find his length but hasn't allowed the openers to open their hands.

As expected, England announced their playing XI on the eve of the third Test at Lord's. Their only change is Jofra Archer's return to the side after four years, as he replaced Josh Tongue in the lineup. His last Test appearance came in Ahmedabad during the India tour in February 2021. He has played 13 matches so far and has taken 42 wickets at an average of 31.05. 

As of now, Bumrah's inclusion in the side seems to be the only change India might make for the third Test at Lord's against England. There is uncertainty over others considering the fact that the visitors might avoid experimenting too much with the winning combination. There were talks regarding Kuldeep Yadav's return to the side around the Edgbaston Test and Shardul Thakur could also make a surprise return to the team. 

The focus will once again shift to the world's no.1 bowler, Jasprit Bumrah, who is set to make his return to the side for the all-important Lord's Test. He is expected to be the only change in the team. He missed the Edgbaston Test due to workload management, after which skipper Shubman Gill had confirmed his availability for the 3rd match. If he makes it to the XI, it will be his second appearance of the series. India will be looking to make the most of their biggest match-winner's presence in the team.

The five-match series is currently levelled at 1-1. While England won the Leeds Test, India registered a famous win at Edgbaston, which means the all-important Lord's Test steps up to give the momentum to the winning team. India will not only be looking to extend their lead but also carry the momentum forward and go on to bag the series. The hosts, England, on the other hand, will have to find the solutions of some of their big problems after getting completely outclassed by the visitors.
