Kohli didn't have a great start to this series as he got out after scoring just five runs during the second match. But he bounced back brilliantly during the third and the last match at the Narendra Modi stadium as he scored a match-winning knock of 50 runs and was thus dismissed by Adil Rashid. His bouncing back to form was quite a huge boost for the Rohit Sharma-led side ahead of the much-awaited mega-event.

At the same time, Pietersen also lambasted England's preparation for the recently concluded series. He slammed the England players for playing golf, instead of attending training sessions and thus questioned their determination. His statements created controversy, which led to both England skipper Jos Buttler and head coach Brendon McCullum dismissing such speculations and reckoning that they had prepared well.

The 2025 Champions Trophy will start on February 19, where the Men in Blue will be riding high on confidence after winning the series, whereas England will try to work on their weaknesses to have a successful campaign.
