IND vs ENG 4th Test Weather Report: The Men in Blue had a forgetful outing on the second day of the ongoing Test match and will try to bounce back on the third day at Old Trafford. As per BBC weather, rain won't play a spoilsport on the third day like it did on Day 2.
The Ben Stokes-led side dominated the second day of the fourth Test match. They skittled the visitors out for just 358 runs. Openers Zak Crawley and Ben Duckett gave the hosts a flying start. Joe Root and Ollie Pope stayed unbeaten till stumps as they were 225/2.
Day 3 Weather Forecast for India vs England 4th Test at Old Trafford
Rain did play a spoilsport, and an early lunch was taken on Day 2. But the weather conditions for the third day are quite clear. According to the BBC weather, rain won't be a spoilsport in Manchester.
The temperature would range below 20 degrees Celsius at the time of the match under overcast conditions. The surface will become pacers-friendly.
It should be noted that the third day will become a fast bowlers' friendly day in Manchester. 28 wickets have been taken at a staggering average of 22.22, and thus it would become suitable for pacers in the longest format.
India added just 94 Runs to their Overnight Score Before Being Bowled Out for 358
The Shubman Gill-led side could only score 94 runs to their overnight score of 264/4 and were skittled out for 358 runs on the second day of the ongoing Test match. Rishabh Pant, who got retired hurt after scoring 37 runs on Day 1, came into bat after Shardul Thakur got out.
Pant showed grit and resilience and scored a brilliant fifty, but he got out to Jofra Archer. But his efforts went in vain as the team failed to post a mammoth target.
While chasing, the host had a flying start. Openers Ben Duckett and Zak Crawley stitched a brilliant partnership of 166 runs in 32 overs. Ravindra Jadeja took Crawley's wicket after scoring 84 runs, whereas Duckett fell short of a well-deserved hundred.
Anshul Kamboj took his maiden Test wicket by dismissing Duckett on 94 as Dhruv Jurel caught him behind. The hosts were 225/2 at stumps.
Joe Root in Exceptional Form at Home Since 2022
Joe Root has been in sublime form in their backyard. He has scored 500 runs after playing in 10 innings and batted at a brilliant strike rate of 86 on Day 3. As the hosts are eyeing a total of 500 runs during the first innings, Joe Root is expected to play a huge role.
At the same time, Mohammed Siraj had a disappointing performance on the second day. He had given away 58 runs after bowling in 10 overs as Zak Crawley and Ben Duckett took him to the cleaners. Since the pitch would become seamers-friendly, Siraj would be under immense pressure to perform well.
