IND vs NZ: Delhi's star batter Ayush Badoni has revealed that he was informed about his maiden India call-up ahead of the Vijay Hazare Trophy quarterfinal against Vidarbha. He also informed Priyansh Arya that he would have to lead Delhi, as Ayush might be playing for India. Badoni had played for Delhi in the 2025-26 Vijay Hazare Trophy before joining the Indian side in Rajkot. He hasn't made his debut yet as Nitish Kumar Reddy replaced Washington Sundar in the playing XI.

Badoni said that he found out about his maiden call-up just a day before the knockout match.

“I was with the Delhi team, I was captain there, and we had a match the next day, quarter finals against Vidarbha, it was then that I got to know (about the call-up). Priyansh (Arya) was my roommate, and I told him that it could happen, and he may have to lead the side because I might have to go," Badoni was quoted as saying to BCCI.
