India vs Pakistan, Asia Cup 2025: India defeated Pakistan by 7 wickets in match 6 of the ongoing Asia Cup 2025 at the Dubai International Cricket Stadium on Sunday, September 14.

Skipper Suryakumar Yadav hit the winning runs as he smashed a massive six off Sufiyan Muqeem as India chased down the 128-run target in 15.5 overs. Suryakumar was India's top run-getter with an unbeaten knock of 47 runs in just 37 balls, hitting five fours and a six.

This was India's second win of the tournament as they remained at the top of the group A standings, extending their dominance over the arch-rivals in the continental tournament.

Despite calls for boycotting the match from certain parts of the country as a mark of protest for the Pahalgam terror attack in April, a near full-capacity crowd dominated by 85 per cent Indian fans witnessed a clinical decimation of Pakistan.

Spinners Axar (2/18 in 4 overs), Kuldeep (3/18 in 4 overs) and Varun (1/24 in 4 overs) were spot on in terms of line and length as none of the Pakistani batters showed the wherewithal to play the trio from their hands.

The result was a disappointing total of 127 for nine from Pakistan, which was at least 50 runs below the par-score.

In reply, Abhishek Sharma (31 off 13 balls) flayed their biggest bowling hope, Shaheen Shah Afridi (0/23 in 2 overs), with utter disdain, while Suryakumar celebrated his 35th birthday with a fine 47 not out off 37 balls in a chase that was completed in 15.5 overs.

Suryakumar finished it off in style and then walked straight back to the dug-out without shaking hands with the Pakistan players on the field.

"Great feeling and a perfect return gift to India. Human tendency that it keeps running in your mind when you think about it (his earlier line about the win being a return gift). You definitely want to win it and when you win it, you have it ready. One box that I always wanted to tick - stay there and bat till the end," skipper Indian Suryakumar Yadav said at the post-match presentation.
