IND vs PAK, Asia Cup 2025: Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) chief Mohsin Naqvi visited the Pakistan team's training session, met with the players and held detailed discussions with head coach Mike Hesson ahead of the blockbuster clash against India in Asia Cup 2025 Super Four, amidst controversy over the handshake decision with India and ongoing friction with ICC match referee Andy Pycroft.

As per news agency ANI, Naqvi, who is also the chair of the Asian Cricket Council, dropped in at the training session on Saturday evening and had a brief chat with the players at the ICC Academy.

He met Hesson and had an intense conversation with the head coach. Naqvi was animated throughout their conversation and even appeared to be emphasising specific points with his gesture.

Pakistan's reason behind cancelling the presser remains unclear. It is the second instance in as many games that Men in Green have ditched the customary pre-match duties.

Pakistan declined to hold a press conference ahead of their must-win game against the UAE earlier this week, as the handshake row with match referee Pycroft raged on.

The development comes in the aftermath of Pycroft, who was at the heart of the handshake imbroglio when India and Pakistan locked horns on September 14 at the Asia Cup, being selected as the match referee for the Super Four fixture between the two teams in Dubai.

PCB had pursued Pycroft's immediate removal in the aftermath of their 7-wicket thrashing against India.

According to the Pakistan board, Pycroft had asked the captains, Pakistan skipper Salman Agha and India's Suryakumar Yadav, not to shake hands during the toss of their group stage encounter.

Pakistan cancelled their pre-match press conference and arrived late at the Dubai International Stadium, causing a one-hour delay to the game.
