IND vs Prime Ministers XI: India put out a brilliant performance after defeating Australia's Prime Ministers XI by six wickets in the pink ball warm-up match in Canberra on Sunday. Since the first day of the two-day warm-up match was abandoned due to incessant rain, it became a 46-over per side match. Rohit Sharma had won the toss and chose to bowl first and thus skittled the PM XI out for 240 runs in 43.2 overs.
The visitors chased the target of 241 runs quite comprehensively in 42.5 overs but what left everyone stunned was the fact the Men in Blue continued batting till the very last over.
It should be noted here that despite chasing the gettable target of 241 runs, India played 19 more balls since it was just a warm-up game. The team chose to bat in all 46 overs to get as much game-time possible ahead of the pink ball Test, which would be held in Adelaide next week.

Ft-again Gill shines, Rohit fails at No.4
India's star batter Shubman Gill dismissed all concerns around his thumb injury by scoring a brilliant half-century whereas skipper Rohit Sharma kept the fans guessing by coming into bat at the No.4 position.
Rohit didn't change the opening pair of KL Rahul and Yashasvi Jaiswal and thus sacrificed his position as an opener. But his stay at the crease was shortlived as he faced just 11 balls before his bat edged the ball to one of the fielders, who was standing at slip, and took the catch under night light.
But what was seen as a huge boost to the Men in Blue was Shubman Gill's performance. He began his brilliant knock by playing a square cut in Mahli Beardman's over, which showed that he had fully recovered from his injury and would be rearing to go for the second Test match in Adelaide.
But it remains to be seen as to whether Rohit would bat in the second Test match against Australia as an opener, which would begin next week.
The team management made tactical decisions since India's star batter Virat Kohli faced Jasprit Bumrah in the training session instead of exposing them in the warm-up match against Prime Minister XI.
