IND vs Prime Ministers XI: Indian skipper Rohit Sharma was ecstatic with the way team India has prepared for the second Test match, which would be held in Adelaide against Australia. On Sunday, India thrashed the Prime Minister's XI by six wickets in Canberra. But Rohit also admitted that since the two-day warm-up match was reduced to one day due to incessant rain, it gave them less game time.

Not a single delivery was bowled owing to the inclement weather conditions in Canberra on Saturday. But the Indian skipper reckoned that they tried to take advantage of whatever time they got from the warm-up match to get accustomed to the conditions of the pink ball Test, which would be held next week.

“Yeah, it was fantastic. We got what we wanted as a group. But we were a little unlucky that we didn't get the whole game. It was washed out the other day. But whatever time we got, we tried to make the most of it, and we got pretty much out of what we had in front of us,” Rohit told broadcasters in the post-match presentation.

Rohit, who didn't feature in the series opener in Perth, where India thrashed Australia by 295 runs, also applauded the fans for coming out in huge numbers to support them during the warm-up game.

“It's fantastic. You know, we love coming to Australia, and we love watching our fans come and support us. You know, there has never been a time where we've come here and, you know, the guys have not turned up for us. So it's always nice to see people coming and supporting us. India,” he concluded.

Speaking about his performance, he didn't have a great time in the middle. He came into bat at No.4 position and could score just three runs off 11 balls and then Charlie Anderson took his wicket. Rohit tried to play an expansive drive but his bat received an outside edge as Oliver Davies, who was standing at the slip cordon, took an easy catch.
