IND vs SA: India's star batter Virat Kohli reached Ranchi on Wednesday as he was seen walking out of the Ranchi airport. He is part of India's ODI team for the three-match ODI series last week, and on Tuesday, he returned to India for the same. The series opener will be held in Ranchi, and the other two matches will be held in Raipur and Vishakhapatnam.

The last time the host played an international match in Ranchi was in February last year. In the 4th Test match against England, the Rohit Sharma-led side won the match. Virat Kohli wasn't a part of this team owing to the birth of his son, Akaay.

Kohli, who announced his retirement from the shortest format in June last year and then from Test cricket earlier this year, last featured in an ODI match in October against Australia. In the last ODI, he had scored a match-winning knock of 74 and had stitched a partnership of 168 runs for the second wicket as Rohit Sharma had scored 121 runs and helped the team win by nine wickets and had avoiding the whitewash.

Rahul to captain India

KL Rahul will be leading the team from the front in the ODI series against South Africa in Shubman Gill and Sheyas Iyer's absence. Gill and Iyer aren't available for selection owing to their injuries. Yashasvi Jaiswal will be opening the innings along with Rohit Sharma, as Tilak Varma will be replacing Iyer as No.4 batter.
