IND vs ENG 3rd Test: A rare incident happened on the third day of the ongoing Test match at Lord's, where both the teams scored the same amount of runs post the first innings till the third day and there are high chances that this match won't produce any result with just two days more remaining. The visitors had one wicket remaining and with Mohammed Siraj at the non-striker's end, Washington Sundar didn't have any other option but to play the big shot during Jofra Archer's over.

But the star all-rounder mistimed his shot and Harry Brook, who was standing at long stop took an easy catch.

It should be noted here that it was the first time in 10 years that the first innings total of both teams was leveled. At that time one of the teams was also England but they locked horns with New Zealand in Headingley way back in 2015.

While batting first, the visitors had posted a respectable target of 350 runs, where wicket-keeper Luke Ronchi was their highest run-getter as he had scored 88 runs. Stuart Broad was the pick among the English bowlers as he had taken a five-for.

While chasing, the hosts too scored 350 runs, on the back of a brilliant hundred by Adam Lynch. Tim Southee, who is currently England's bowling coach had taken a four-fer.

New Zealand declared their second innings score at 454/8 on the back of a brilliant century by BJ Watling. The hosts were asked to chase 455 runs but New Zealand's Mark Craig and Kane Williamson skittled England out for 255 runs and thus won the match by 199 runs.

Has India Ever Been In A Similar Situation Before?

The Men in Blue too have been in a similar situation situation before and that too against England way back in 1986. While batting first, England posted a respectable target of 390 runs on the back of a brilliant hundred by captain Mike Gatting. While chasing, the visitors also scored the same amount of runs on the back of Mohinder Amarnath's gritty knock of 79 runs. Neil Foster was the pick among the English bowlers as he had taken three wickets.

During the second innings, the hosts were bundled out for 235 runs on the back of Graham Gooch's knock of 40 runs whereas Chetan Sharm was the pick among the Indian bowlers as he had taken a six-wicket haul. The Men in Blue were supposed to chase 236 runs but since they didn't have much time, they could only score 174 runs, and the match ended in a tie. Sunil Gavaskar smashed a fifty.

India and West Indies too had their first innings scores leveled as both the teams had scored 222 runs in Kanpur way back in 1958. India lost that match by 203 runs.
