The BCCI is set to announce India's squad for the upcoming two-Test series against Sri Lanka on Tuesday (July 28), as the team prepares for the tour next month. The first Test will be played in Galle from August 15 to 19, while the second Test is scheduled at the SSC in Colombo from August 23 to 27.

Speaking to the Times of India, BCCI Secretary Devajit Saikia confirmed that the squad announcement is just a couple of days away.

“Yes, the Indian team for the Sri Lanka Test tour will be picked in the next two days. By Tuesday, we will announce the team," the Indian daily quoted BCCI secretary Saikia.

The report also said that the BCCI will hold a detailed review of India's white-ball tours of Ireland, England and Zimbabwe during the first half of August.

India had a tough run under new T20I captain Shreyas Iyer. The team first suffered a surprise 2-0 series defeat in Ireland, their first-ever T20I series loss against the hosts. That was followed by a disappointing 4-0 series whitewash against England.

India finally bounced back in Zimbabwe with a win, giving Iyer his first victory as T20I captain after seven matches without a win.

“We will conduct a review of India’s tours of England, Ireland and Zimbabwe in the first part of Aug. It could be at the beginning of August. Some of the contracts (of the Team India support staff) have expired. We will review it. In our review meeting, we will discuss everything, including what are the things that went wrong in England. The review meeting will be held after our team returns from Zimbabwe," Saikia said.

India also had a disappointing ODI tour of England under Test and ODI captain Shubman Gill, losing the three-match series 2-1.

There was, however, some improvement in Zimbabwe. India started the three-match T20I series with a comfortable seven-wicket victory at the Harare Sports Club on Thursday, taking a 1-0 lead.
