IND vs SL: Sri Lanka Cricket and the BCCI are finalizing a two-match Test series in Sri Lanka for the second half of August, part of the ICC WTC cycle. While the official schedule remains unconfirmed, Cricbuzz reports the series is likely to be held from August 15-27, immediately after the Lanka Premier League.
The report indicated ongoing talks to add three T20Is to the itinerary, but accommodating these matches in an already congested calendar could be difficult. The T20 series was intended to be a fundraiser for Cyclone Ditwa victims in 2025, but no final decision has been reached.
“India was willing to visit at the end of December for two T20Is to raise funds, but there was not enough time to organize it, and no broadcaster was available," Sylva told reporters.

Shammi Silva, SLC chairman, stated earlier this year that the India series would include T20Is as well as the scheduled Tests. He noted that the BCCI proposed two T20Is for December last year, which were seen as a gesture of support. The plan was not executed due to a congested schedule and the absence of broadcasting arrangements.
Cyclone Ditwa was not the strongest by wind speed, but caused extensive casualties due to prolonged rainfall and slow movement. It was one of Sri Lanka's worst disasters since the 2004 tsunami.

Devajit Saikia, BCCI secretary, is in Sri Lanka as part of an ICC delegation reviewing recent changes in the country's cricket administration.

He arrived after the Sri Lankan government dismissed the previous SLC management and installed the interim Sri Lanka Cricket Transformation Committee. The India series could become a focal point of Saikia's discussions.
