New Delhi | Jagran Sports Desk: The second T20I between India and Australia began at 1.30 pm at Saurashtra Cricket Stadium, Rajkot on Friday (January 17). Australia won the toss and opted to field. A strong performance from Shikhar Dhawan (96), KL Rahul (80) and Virat Kohli (78) helped India post 340/6. The second fixture was quite important for the Men in Blue as they couldn't afford another loss in the do or die match.

The high-voltage match did not feature wicket-keeper Rishabh Pant after his cuncussion in the first ODI. Manish Pandey replaced Pant while Navdeep Saini came in for Shardul Thakur. 

In reply, Aussies were bowled out for 304 runs. Steve Smith was the top-scorer with 98 runs. Shami scalped three wickets while Saini, Jadeja and Yadav picked two each.

The previous ODI was won by Australia by 10 wickets after a record-breaking opening performances by openers David Warner and skipper Aaron Finch.

9.31 pm: Jasprit Bumrah dismisses Adam Zampa for six runs, Australia all out for 304.

9.30 pm: Late blitz from Richardson (24) helps Aussies surpass 300-mark. 

9.22 pm: Saini dismisses Agar (25) and Starc (6) in the 47th over. Aussies are 279/9 in 47 overs. 

9.11 pm: Australia are 268/7 in 45 overs. Agar and Starc are batting on 0 and 3 runs. 

9:01 pm: Mohd. Shami dismisses Turner and Cummins off consecutive deliveries as Australia lose seventh wicket. 

8:53 pm: Aussies are 247/5 in 42 overs. Turner and Agar are playing on 12 and 9. 

8:49 pm: Australia are 241/5 in 40 overs. Turner and Agar are batting on 8 and 7 runs respectively. 

8:34 pm: Kuldeep Yadav dismisses Carey (18) and Smith (98) in the 38th over. Aussies are 222/5 in 38.1 overs.

8:14 pm: Aussies are 201/3 in 34.2 overs. Smith and Carey are batting on 85 and 13 runs respectively. 

7:58 pm: Jadeja gets the crucial wicket of Labuschagne. Aussies are 178/3 in 30.5 overs.

7:48 pm: Australia are 165/2 in 28.3 overs. Smith and Labuschagne are playing on 65 and 43 runs.  

7:28 pm: Steve Smith completes half-century. Australia are 139/1 after 23.1 overs. 

7:17 pm: The visitors are 121/2 after 21 overs. Smith and Labuschagne are batting on 48 and 17 runs respectively. 

6:53 pm: Australia are 82/1 after 15 overs. Finch and Smith are batting on 33 and 26 runs. 

6:31 pm: Australia are 55/1 after 10 overs. Finch and Steve Smith are batting on 17 and 15 respectively. 

6:04 pm: David Warner dismissed for 15 runs off Shami. Aussies are 23/1 in 4 overs. Finch and Smith are playing on one run each.

5:58 pm: Shikhar Dhawan got hit on the rib-cage on his right side. He will not be taking the field today. Yuzvendra Chahal is in as his substitute.

5:52 pm: Ambitious David Warner and Aaron Finch begin chase of 341 for Aussies to seal the series 2-0. 

5:13 pm: Innings break!

5:12 pm: India score 340/6 in 50 overs. 

5:10 pm: KL Rahul departs after scoring 80 runs. India are 338/6 in 49.4 overs

4:52 pm: India are 306/5 in 46.3 overs. KL Rahul and Jadeja are playing on 59 and 10 runs.

4:44 pm: Adam Zampa outfoxes Virat Kohli yet again, departs for 78 runs. 

4:22 pm: Men in Blue are 24/3 in 50 overs. Kohli and Rahul are batting on 67 and 26 runs respectively. 

4:09 pm: Virat Kohli (63) scores half-century, India are 231/3 in 37 overs. KL Rahul is batting on 12. 

3:52 pm: Iyer (7) departs cheaply, Men in Blue are 198/3 in 32.4 overs. 

3:50 pm: After 32 overs, India are 197/2. Kohli and Shreyas Iyer are batting at 41 and 7 runs respectively. 

3:40 pm: Shikhar Dhawan departs after scoring 96. 

3:29 pm: India are 171/1 in 27 overs. Dhawan and Kohli are batting on 87 and 31 runs respectively. 

3:07 pm: Shikhar Dhawan brings up his half-century. India are 125/1 in 21.3 overs. 

2:51 pm: India are 99/1 in 17 overs. Virat Kohli and Dhawan are batting on 38 and 11 runs respectively. 

2:35 pm: Rohit Sharma departs on 42. Adam Zampa draws first blood for Australia. 

2:30 pm: India 76 for no loss after 13 overs. Rohit, Dhawan steady on 38 and 34 respectively.  

2:11 pm: India looks strong in the first nine overs. Rohit and Dhawan are batting on 25 and 26 respectively. 

1:56 pm: Men in Blue are 32/0 after 6 overs. Dhawan and Rohit are batting for 18 and 13 runs respectively. 

1:45 pm: India are 14/0 in 3 overs. Rohit and Dhawan are batting at 4 and 10 runs respectively.

1:34 pm: Aussie pacer Pat Cummins begins opening over with a maiden. 

1:30 pm: Openers Shikhar Dhawan and Rohit Sharma walks out to bat.

1:04 pm:  We would've bowled first as well. But the good thing is that there's not much dew. It looks really nice and hard. If we put enough runs on the board, we have a good chance of defending. You will be beaten comprehensively by sides like Australia at the International level. It's about understanding what went wrong.

We need to focus on the positives. We are going to be more brave than the last game, that's for sure. Couple of changes. One forced change; Rishabh is out with a concussion. KL will don the gloves and Manish comes in for Rishabh. Also, Saini replaces Shardul.

Manish Pandey comes in for Pant while Navdeep Saini comes in for Shardul Thakur.
