India vs Australia ODIs: Indian women's team head coach Amol Muzumdar divulged details about the pacer Renuka Singh’s recovery status ahead of the upcoming three-match ODI series against Australia at home.
India will play Australia in a three-match ODI series ahead of the World Cup, starting September 14 here, followed by matches on September 17 and September 20.
Renuka is gearing up for her return to play in India colours for the first time since December 2024 after she cleared all fitness and medical tests.
“Renuka has just joined in for this series. She was recovering and she cleared all her tests,” Muzumdar told reporters ahead of the series opener.

India's mighty strike bowler with the new ball, Renuka, boasts an amazing ODI record with 35 wickets at an average of 22.02 and a praiseworthy economy rate of 4.85.
“Renuka is an important member of the team, she is the leader of the pack as far as medium-pace bowling is concerned. I think she’s been an integral part of this team. She had an injury, layoff, and now she’s back with us,” Muzumdar said.
Muzumdar stated that the upcoming three-match series against Australia is a "real trailblazer" for the home side going into the women's World Cup, starting September 30 in Guwahati.
"I think this is real trail blazer for the World Cup. This is a very important series for us and we are looking forward to the series, playing against one of the top teams in the world. We had a lovely tour to England, we had positive results which we wanted and we are looking forward for the series," Muzumdar said in a virtual press conference.

Muzumdar highlighted that the team will look to maximise the chance presented by the three-match ODI series.
"Preparation is the same but yes Australia have been a dominant force for so many years but we focus on our preparation and how we gonna execute them," Muzumdar said.
"It's always going to be pressure playing international cricket and these girls are now used to it. We played a lot of home series in the last few years and we are used to the expectations and the crowd pressure," said the head coach.
"As a team, we decide by the game and on the day and the combination will depend on this and we are looking forward to this series," he added.
