India, unbeaten with 4 points and a net run-rate (NRR) of +2.425, are leading the race for the semifinals. Australia, with 2 points and a NRR of +0.223, face the risk of elimination if they lose to India. Should Afghanistan (2 points, NRR -0.650) defeat Bangladesh (0 points, NRR -2.489) in the last 'Super 8s' match, they will advance to the semifinals alongside India.

The weather forecast indicates mostly cloudy skies throughout the match, which is scheduled to start at 10:30 AM local time (8:00 PM in India). According to Accuweather, Monday morning in St. Lucia will be "partly sunny" with possible thunderstorms in parts of the area. It will also be windy with an 85% cloud cover, which is expected to decrease to 47% by the afternoon.

If the match is washed out and ends in a no-result, Australia will finish with three points. Australia will then hope that the Afghanistan vs Bangladesh match either gets washed out or results in a win for Bangladesh. However, if the both the remaining matches yield no result, Australia will be through to the semifinal courtesy of a superior NRR over Afghanistan. However, if Afghanistan fails to secure a win against Bangladesh, they will be eliminated with only two points compared to Australia's three.

After the conclusion of all the matches in the group, South Africa and defending champions England have secured their places in the semifinals scheduled to take place on June 27. South Africa topped the group with six points, while England finished second with four points. Co-hosts West Indies and USA have been eliminated from the tournament.
