IND vs ENG 2nd T20I: India's star batter Tilak Varma scored a match-winning knock of 72 runs and led his team to a two-wicket win during the 2nd T20I against England at the Chepauk stadium. England pacer Brydon Carse took three wickets but his efforts went in vain as England lost the match. During the first innings England skipper Jos Buttler scored a gritty knock of 45 runs, in which he had hit five fours. With the help of his knock, they posted a target of 165 runs. Axar Patel and Varun Chankravarthy took two wickets apiece. After winning this match, the hosts are leading the five-match series by 2-0.

Tilak batted brilliantly against the England fast bowlers and took the team across the line.

He played the role of a lone warrior and didn't get any support from the other batters as the England bowlers rattled India's batting lineup.

Tilak batted aggressively initially as he had smashed Jofra Archer for consecutive sixes.  But then he slowed down and analyzed the situation after the team suffered a batting collapse.

Varma then bounced back during the 16th over as he again went all-guns-blazing against Jofra Archer and smacked him for 19 runs. At one point it looked like the Suryakumar Yadav-led side would win the match, Arshdeep Singh was dismissed, andhe faced Adil Rashid during the last ball of the 17th over.

Tilak once again came under immense pressure and batted cautiously and finally got some support from Ravi Bishnoi, who scored an unbeaten knock of 9 runs, in which he had two fours.

England's Innings of Two Halves

Arshdeep Singh once again gave the team a flying start by dismissing Phil Salt, the hosts then lost the momentum halfway as England skipper Jos Buttler played a gritty inning again.
