IND vs PAK, Asia Cup 2025: India bowling coach Morne Morkel predicted a thrilling contest between Abhishek Sharma's attacking flair and Shaheen Shah Afridi's razor-sharp accuracy in the Asia Cup showdown, depicting it as an "edge-of-the-seat" duel. 

Morkel's prior stint as Pakistan's bowling consultant gives him unique insight into Shaheen Afridi's strengths, allowing him to observe the pacer's skills up close.

"Shaheen is obviously an aggressive bowler that will try and knock you over. And Abhishek is not going to hold back. I think so far, every time these two went head-to-head, we all as cricket supporters and fans are on the edge of our seats, and that's great for the game," Morkel said as quoted by PTI.

Despite sharing the same age, the two players have contrasting trajectories. Afridi has established himself as a seasoned campaigner with his laser-like accuracy, while Abhishek has burst onto the scene with his explosive batting in the Indian international setup and the Indian Premier League (IPL).

Abhishek has been unconquerable in the ongoing tournament, registering three fifties in six games. Notably, he exposed the Pakistan pacer's vulnerabilities with his t hunderous blows in their two encounters.

"Yeah, so let's look forward to that on Sunday and enjoy the battle," the former Proteas pace ace added on the two once again locking horns during Sunday's grand finale.

Ahead of the summit clash, Morkel identified key areas where India needs to refine their batting technique to further elevate their game. 

"If we start with the batting, can we on tough conditions rotate strike a little bit better? Can we protect partnerships a little bit? Because for a new batter walking in here is quite tough to start, but still have that aggressive mindset," he said.
