India vs Pakistan No Handshake Controversy: The International Cricket Council (ICC) has officially rejected the Pakistan Cricket Board's (PCB) demand to remove match referee Andy Pycroft from the panel of the ongoing Asia Cup 2025, as reported by Cricbuzz.

PCB was reportedly upset with match referee Pycroft's involvement in the handshake controversy between India and Pakistan during the Asia Cup 2025.

The Pakistan board was miffed that Pycroft asked Pakistan captain Salman Ali Agha to avoid a handshake with Indian captain Suryakumar Yadav at the toss.

According to Cricbuzz, the ICC has clarified that Pycroft was told by the Asian Cricket Council (ACC) officials on the ground that there would be no handshake between the skippers.

"Late last night, ICC had sent a reply to PCB stating that Pycroft won't be removed and their plea has been rejected," an ICC source told PTI.

Pakistan team manager Naved Cheema had also filed a protest with the Asian Cricket Council, alleging that it was on Pycroft's insistence that team sheets weren't exchanged between the two skippers on Sunday, as is the norm.

Indian captain Suryakumar Yadav clarified Team India's decision not to shake hands with Pakistani players and going straight to the dressing room after their seven-wicket win in the Asia Cup 2025 match.

"We took a team call. We had come only to play. We had given them a reply. Some things are beyond sportsmanship. We dedicate this victory to our armed forces who took part in 'Operation Sindoor' and stand with families of the victims of the Pahalgam terror attack," Suryakumar said.
