IND vs PAK New York Weather Forecast, T20 World Cup 2024: All eyes will be on the pitch and the weather once India and Pakistan take the field for match 19 of the T20 World Cup 2024 at the Nassau County International Cricket Stadium in New York on Sunday, June 9.

Pakistan are in desperate need of a win to keep their chances alive of making it to the Super Eight, having lost their opening match in Group A against the USA in the Super Over.

The much-anticipated clash will be the eighth meeting between the arch-rivals in the marquee tournament and India will be heading as favourites, having won six matches so far. Pakistan's only T20 WC win against India came in the 2021 edition.

India are considered as favorites going into the all-important match as they won their first match of the tournament convincingly against Ireland and are familiar with the conditions at the venue.

Pakistan, on the other hand, kicked off their campaign in the tournament in the worst possible way and are placed fourth in the standings with no points under their belt.

However, the pitch has been the talking point in New York throughout the tournament so far due to its uneven and slow nature.

Indian skipper Rohit Sharma had his say on the pitch at the Nassau County International Cricket Stadium witnessed a low-scoring contest between the Netherlands and South Africa.

“New York is not our home ground. We have played two matches here but we don’t have much awareness about its nature. It behaves differently on different days, so even the curator is confused,” Rohit said on Saturday.

“So, you can imagine the kind of thinking we need to put in. We don’t know on which pitch we are playing (against Pakistan), so, whoever plays better cricket will win the match,” he added.

With weather remaining a concern so far in the ninth edition of the marquee tournament which is being hosted by the West Indies and the USA, there is also a possibility that rain might affect Sunday's blockbuster match in New York.

 

IND vs PAK New York Weather Report, T20 World Cup 2024

As per Accuweather's forecast, the India vs Pakistan match at the Nassau County International Cricket Stadium in New York is expected to face rain interruptions.

There is a 51 percent chance of rain at 11 AM local time (8:30 PM IST), which is half an hour after the start of the match.

The rain has been predicted to play spoilsport till 4 PM (local time), which is 1:30 AM IST on June 10.

It also could be a possibility that rain might delay the toss which means the DLS method might come into play.

The temperature is expected to hover around 23 to 20 degrees Celsius with 50 percent humidity expected.
