India vs South Africa Guwahati Test: South Africa seized control of the second Test, riding a surge of momentum to a commanding 508-run lead at lunch on Day 4 of the ongoing match against hapless India at the Barsapara Cricket Stadium in Guwahati on Tuesday.

In the second session of the day, South Africa's dominance continued unabated, with Temba Bavuma's side adding 113 runs to their tally while India managed to claim just one wicket.

At the time of Lunch, South Africa's score read 220/4, leading by 508 runs, with Tristan Stubbs (60) and Wiaan Mulder (29) standing unbeaten at the crease.

Stubbs, who missed out on a half-century in the first innings by a single run, put his head down for a solid effort. The Proteas' strategy for the first two sessions was crystal clear as the visitors wanted to build a fortress, denying India any glimpses of a chaseable target.

India received a good degree of turn on offer during the opening session, and it was the moment when Ravindra Jadeja and Washington Sundar seized the opportunity with both hands, accounting for three wickets.

Tony de Zorzi (49 off 68 balls) and Stubbs, though, thwarted the Indian spinners in the second session with a 101-run stand when the ball got soft.

De Zorzi was later dismissed by Jadeja, but by then, the Proteas were in cruise control.

The Proteas openers Ryan Rickleton (35 off 64 balls) and Aiden Markram (29 off 84 balls) once again forged a half-century stand before Jadeja dismissed both.

Washington's accuracy proved costly for Temba Bavuma, as a well-flighted leg-break found its path to the South African skipper's bat-pad, only to be caught by Nitish Kumar Reddy at leg-slip.
