Mohammed Siraj produced an exceptional performance as he took 6/21 in seven overs to help his team bowl Sri Lanka out for just 50 runs in 15.2 overs. He registered his five-wicket haul in just 16 balls, having picked the four wickets in an over. India need 51 runs to lift the Asia Cup title for the eighth time.

Indian team players are in the middle have begin warm-ups ahead of the final. Expect Bumrah and Siraj to open the bowling.

Just moments before the teams were set to be lining up for the national stadium, the rain has arrived at the R Premadasa Stadium in Colombo. So we will have a delayed start.

Sri Lanka won the toss and opted to bat first amid rain threat at the R Premadasa Stadium in Colombo.

Players are out for the warmups as they gear up for the high-voltage clash. Talking about weather conditions, it's a bit cloudy overhead with rain expected to arrive after a while.

The cloud cover has started to build up with brightness dimming in the sky. Notably, the rain is expected to be arriving around 3 PM or around toss time.

We had a heavy prediction yesterday for multiple thunderstorms during the match hours on Sunday. It's a worrying thing that they could make their way out during the first one or two hours of the match. 

It is still bright with the clear sky overhead in Colombo. However, there is as much as an 80% chance of rain during the start or initial hours of the match.

"Tickets for the finals of the Asia Cup 2023 have been sold out. Hence, the public is advised not to arrive at ticket counters or the ground to purchase tickets to watch the epic final between Sri Lanka and India. The ones who have purchased tickets to watch the final are advised to arrive early in order to avoid congestion. The gates at RPICS, Colombo, will be opened at 12 p.m. today for the public with tickets to enter the ground," confirmed Sri Lanka Cricket on X.

There is no rain around as of now but the weather conditions could take a massive turn and it might rain in the afternoon, to be specific, during the toss time or at the start of the play at the R Premadasa Stadium in Colombo.

Axar Patel who suffered a left quadriceps strain during the India vs Bangladesh has been ruled out of the final against Sri Lanka. Washington Sundar replaced him in India's squad.

It is still clear and bright here in Colombo as the hope for improved weather gives a huge boost to the excitement for the India vs Sri Lanka final clash.

The match will stop the moment it will have a rain interruption. A minimum of 20 overs per side will be needed to be bowled and if that does not happen, the match will head to the reserve day - Monday from the point it stopped on Sunday.

The sky appears to be pretty clear and it looks warm as of now but the weather is expected to take a turn in the afternoon. We might see some drizzle around 3 PM. Notably, the toss is schedule to take place at 2:30 PM while the action begins at 3 PM.

Almost every match had rain interruptions so far at the R Premadasa Stadium but the ground staff has done their job with sheer grit and passion. Their pace and determination in putting and removing the covers from the pitch and ground have been a commendable thing throughout the tournament. Their efforts are the only ones that made this tournament successfully reach its conclusion. Hats off to each and every member.

The Indian team kicked off their Asia Cup 2023 campaign against the arch-rivals Pakistan. However, the match was abandoned as persistent rain didn't allow the game to conclude. The fixture was called off after the first innings. The second match against Nepal also witnessed rain interruption. The Men in Blues' first Super Four clash against Pakistan went to reserve day and managed to get a result this time. Only the last match played by India against Bangladesh didn't have any rain issues while India vs Sri Lanka match also had the interruption.

It was a bit of sunny weather conditions in Colombo around 8 AM local time. However, the clouds have made their way overhead and are expected to remain for a while. It's bright and cloudy at the moment here.

As per the weather forecast on AccuWeather, there are 45% chance of rain coming down in the morning. But that will increase up to 90% in the afternoon and is expected to stay the same till the evening. Let's hope for the best of weather to remain overhead for the India vs Sri Lanka final.

The weather has played its part in this year's Asia Cup as it remained a concerning factor throughout the tournament. Apart from the matches that took place in Pakistan, all the remaining matches in Sri Lanka had rain threats with clouds creating problems overhead. A similar kind of concern will be there on the day of the final match as rain could play a spoilsport with the prediction of cloudy weather throughout the match hours.
