India vs West Indies 2nd Test: Despite Yashasvi Jaiswal's horrible run-out, which ended his innings at 175 runs, India dominated the first session of Day 2 with Shubman Gill and Nitish Kumar Reddy launching a counteroffensive against West Indies bowlers in the second Test at the Arun Jaitley Stadium in Delhi on Saturday.

Resuming at an overnight score of 318/2, India amassed 109 runs in the opening session while losing the wickets of Yashasvi Jaiswal (175) and Nitish Kumar Reddy (43). At Lunch India's score read 427/4 with Gill (75) and Dhruv Jurel (7) standing unbeaten at the crease.

Jaiswal and captain Gill were involved in a mix-up that led to the India opener being run out in the second over of the day, while Reddy fell prey to left-arm spinner Jomel Warrican and became his third victim.

Even after Jaiswal's wicket, Gill's attention didn't sway with his boundary count reaching 11 fours along with a maximum, going into the break.

Nitish Kumar Reddy, promoted to number 5, got some worthwhile batting time and maintained the score in quick time, amassing 91 for the fourth wicket in just 17.1 overs.

Reddy began his innings with a cover drive off Seales and then hit another couple of fours against the pacer.

Reddy relished the golden chance he received after being dropped by Phillip off Warrican's bowling as the right-handed batter thumped the same bowler over the long on fence for a six and followed it up with the same shot in his next over.
