IND-W vs SL-W 5th T20I: Shafali Verma will once again open for the hosts in the fifth T20I of the ongoing series against Sri Lanka. The match will be held in Trivandrum on Tuesday, where Shafali, who is in sublime form, is on the verge of scripting history. If she can score at least 75 runs, then she will become the highest run-scorer in this format.

Till now, on the back of three fifties, Shafali has scored 236 runs, after playing in 4 matches, and that is the most runs scored in a T20I series by an Indian batter.

She had scored just 9 runs in the first match last week, and then in the next three matches, she had scored 69*, 79*, and 79 runs.

West Indies star batter Hayley Matthews has the record of scoring the most runs in this format.

In 2023, she had played in three T20Is against Australia and had scored 310 runs, which included two fifties and one ton.
