IND-W vs SA-W Final, ICC Women's World Cup 2025: India's star wicketkeeper-batter Richa Ghosh scripted her name in the history books with an impressive batting effort against South Africa in the ICC Women's World Cup 2025 at the DY Sports Academy in Navi Mumbai on Sunday.

Richa has equalled the record for the most sixes hit in Women’s World Cups, matching Deandra Dottin's tally. On the back of her two maximums, Richa now has 12 sixes in the ongoing tournament. Notably, Dottin smashed 12 sixes in the 2013 edition of the mega event.

Richa has produced commendable performances for India in the ongoing World Cup. She ended her campaign with the bat on Sunday, scoring 235 runs in eight matches at an average of 39.17. She came up with a contribution of 34 runs in 24 balls against South Africa in the final.

Ahead of the summit clash, Harmanpreet Kaur held the record for most sixes by an Indian with 11 sixes in eight innings.


India miss out on 300-run total

Despite a remarkable start to their innings, India managed to reach 298/7 in their 50 overs after being put into bat first. This is the second-highest total in a WC final after Australia’s 356/5 against England in 2022.

Shafali Verma was the top run-getter for the Women in Blue as she played an incredible knock of 87 runs in just 78 balls on the back of seven fours and two sixes. Deepti Sharma came up with a crucial contribution as well, scoring 58 runs in as many balls.
