IND-W vs AUS-W, ICC Women's World Cup 2025: Smriti Mandhana came up with a remarkable show with the bat during the India vs Australia match in the ongoing ICC Women's World Cup 2025 at the ACA-VDCA Stadium in Visakhapatnam on Sunday. Mandhana completed her 5000 runs in ODI cricket.

Mandhana and Pratika Rawal gave India a magnificent start after they were put into bat first. Mandhana is the fastest batter in the world to score 5000 runs in WODIs, becoming only the second Indian batter to reach the milestone. She reached the 5000-run mark in just her 112th ODI innings. Before Mandhana, the record of being the fastest batter to score 5000 runs in WODIs was in the name of Stafanie Taylor.

The former West Indies captain reached the 5000-run mark in her 129th innings. In terms of balls as well, Mandhana is the fastest batter in the world to score 5000 runs in WODIs.

The left-handed batter is overall the fifth cricketer in the world to score 5000 runs in WODIs. Notably, Charlotte Edwards was the first cricketer to score 5000 runs in WODIs. She achieved the feat in 2013. India’s Mithali Raj joined her in the elite list in 2015, and in 2021, Stafanie Taylor became the third batter to score 5000 runs in WODIs.

Smriti played an incredible knock of 80 runs in just 66 balls on the back of nine fours and three sixes. Smriti and Pratika stitched an impressive opening stand of 155 runs before the former was dismissed by Sophie Molineux in the 25th over.
